Libra

Libra provides the therapeutic benefits of Rhodochrosite while promoting continual, balanced change. Each change initiated by Rhodochrosite is harnessed or accelerated by the Quartz in the name of preserving physical and inner balance. Libra contains 4-mm and 6-mm Rhodochrosite spheres and 6-mm frosted Quartz spheres.

The number three plays a primary role in Libra’s design. In a gemstone combination, the influence of the number three is to initiate change. In Libra, each gemstone sequence contains three Rhodochrosite and three frosted Quartz spheres, thus promoting Libra’s focus on balanced and positive change.

While the Quartz offers its own gifts of balance and alignment, the two different sizes of Rhodochrosite also encourage balanced change. In Libra, Rhodochrosite's work occurs simultaneously at two different levels of your being, each level corresponding to one size of Rhodochrosite. Different aspects of your being resonate with, and therefore are more open to the effects of, the different sizes of Rhodochrosite. Because of this, it might be easy to conclude that the most effective Rhodochrosite necklace would contain many different sizes of Rhodochrosite spheres. This is true only in theory. In practice, someone wearing such a necklace would experience changes on so many different levels of life that he or she would quickly tumble and fall energetically. The frosted Quartz offers another benefit. Rhodochrosite's work can be characterized as serious and hard-working. The light of frosted Quartz brings happiness, humor, lightness, and a joyful quality to Rhodochrosite’s work. The result is that Rhodochrosite is reminded of its goal; its attention is shifted somewhat from working toward the goal to the goal itself.

Because of the numbers involved in Libra’s gemstone sequences and the total number of gemstones combined in this necklace, Libra reflects a higher vibration—one just out of reach of your current state. This magical quality of being just beyond your fingertips is the essence of Libra’s ability to draw your consciousness and overall state of being ever higher.

One of the most powerful and convenient ways to use a Libra necklace is to wear it around your neck. There the gems will silently work for you as you go about your day. At night while you are sleeping, you can wear the necklace or keep it within three feet of your body to maintain your connection with the gems. 

It is most beneficial to wear Libra touching your skin.

Special Therapies

In addition to wearing a Libra necklace around your neck, you can use it for more focused treatments. The simplest treatment is to place it on a specific area of your body to focus its healing energies there. For example, you can curl up the necklace and place it on an ailing, injured, or painful area to accelerate the area’s recovery. Rhodochrosite Sphere Size

No more than two sizes of Rhodochrosite should be worn at any one time. When you wear a necklace that contains 4-mm and 6-mm Rhodochrosite, as Libra does, the areas of your being that resonate with 8-mm and 10-mm Rhodochrosite become a source of stability and an anchor for the changes occurring elsewhere.

After you have worn Libra for a while and completed a cycle of change, you may wish to work with larger Rhodochrosite and put the smaller Rhodochrosite to rest. Then, the parts of your energetic fabric that resonate with 4-mm and 6-mm Rhodochrosite will become the sources of stability, while the parts associated with 8-mm or 10-mm Rhodochrosite will experience changes.

Time Guidelines

Libra can be worn continuously. However, it is always wise to be sensitive to your body’s responses. If you start to feel a headache or significant discomfort, take the necklace off for a while. Then allow your body time to adjust to the changes initiated by the gems by wearing them for only an hour or two a day. Gradually increase this time until you can comfortably wear the gems for as long and often as you wish.

Cleanse Rhodochrosite Regularly

To maintain their effectiveness, therapeutic gemstones need regular care. As the gems help us release energetic impurities, some of these energies cling to the gems’ surface and inhibit their ability to work at their peak capacity. A simple energetic cleansing will clear these energies and restore the gems to their naturally vibrant state. You can use any of following methods to cleanse your Libra necklace. Plant Rejuvenation: 2 – 3 times a week, wrap the necklace around the base of a healthy houseplant or lay the necklace in its branches.

Salt Bed: 2 – 3 times a week, lay the gems in a half-inch of salt for at least an hour or overnight. Place a thin natural-fiber cloth between the salt and the gems.

Water Rinse: Rinse the gems daily for the first two weeks, then 2 – 3 times a week. To restore Quartz’s frosted appearance, wash with mild natural soap.

Sunbath: Every 1 - 2 weeks, lay the gems in sunlight for a maximum of 5 minutes at a time.

Caution: Avoid clay cleansing, which will dull Rhodochrosite’s polish.

When you put on a new necklace or one you haven’t worn for a while, bring it into your aura with consciousness and a clear intent. Therapeutic Quality Libra

Libra necklaces contain therapeutic quality Rhodochrosite and Quartz.

Rhodochrosite

Rhodochrosite occurs in a wide range of clarity from opaque rock to opalescent gem. If you imagine this range as a vertical line, at the very top is Rhodochrosite that is so translucent that the entire sphere displays opalescence; at the bottom is Rhodochrosite that is so rock-like and dense that its vibrations cannot reach beyond the physical level. Rhodochrosite that is rock-like or that contains rock matrix or any other foreign material, such as brown or black spots or blemishes, is not therapeutic.

Although therapeutic Rhodochrosite exhibits a wide range of clarity, its color falls within a relatively narrow spectrum—from watermelon- and rose-pink on one end to orange-pink on the other. The deeper and more vibrant the color of the Rhodochrosite, the more powerful its effects will be.

When working with Rhodochrosite, high quality is essential; the higher the quality, the better the results. Indeed, the more translucent the Rhodochrosite, the faster and more powerfully it will work. 

Rhodochrosite can be divided into six grades of therapeutic quality:

Quality 1

Quality 1 Rhodochrosite displays the minimum parameters for therapeutic quality and thus will support Rhodochrosite’s therapeutic mission. It contains some white bands or spots and some mildly translucent areas. Its color is lighter than other qualities of Rhodochrosite.

Quality 2

This quality of Rhodochrosite has fewer white bands or patches than Quality 1 and displays some translucency.

Quality 3

Quality 3 Rhodochrosite has more translucency and fewer white bands or patches than Quality 2.  It can even display some opalescence.

Quality 4

This quality of Rhodochrosite is clearly translucent and somewhat opalescent, with very few white bands or patches.

Quality 5

Quality 5 Rhodochrosite displays a high degree of translucency and opalescence with minimal areas of white.

Quality 6

Quality 6 Rhodochrosite is free or nearly free of white and is in an altogether different league. It is the most translucent and opalescent. The crystalline matrix of Quality 6 Rhodochrosite is a whisper of physicality. It does not recognize the difference between the physical, emotional, and mental bodies and therefore works with each of them equally and with the knowledge that each is a part of your whole being. Other therapeutic qualities of Rhodochrosite must focus on one level at a time, whereas Quality 6 can work on all aspects at once.

Quartz

To receive the maximum therapeutic benefits from Quartz, only optical or near-optical quality spheres should be used. Optical-quality Quartz is colorless, clear, and free from flaws to the naked eye. Such flaws include cracks and inclusions, or foreign matter. Near-optical Quartz has very slight flaws in a small portion of the sphere but is otherwise identical to optical quality. If a Quartz sphere has anything more than very slight flaws, its ability to balance your physical, emotional, and mental bodies will be significantly inhibited.

Therapeutic Quartz also has no hint of yellow, gray, brown, or smoky coloration. Color contamination and internal flaws greatly limit the spheres’ inflow and outflow of energy.

People who wear lower-quality Quartz may still feel some effects, since any gemstone will influence an individual's energetic field. However, only the highest quality Quartz necklace—one with deeply frosted, optical or near-optical quality spheres and precisely cut drill holes—will spark the true changes and transformations one seeks from this gemstone. Optical-quality Quartz is extremely rare. Yet it is well worth seeking out, since a necklace made of such Quartz radiates an incomparable energy.
