Tips for Choosing
Only the finest quality, pure gems yield the therapeutic results we expect from gemstone energy medicine. The higher a gem’s quality, the more therapeutically powerful it is. As a gem rises in quality, its therapeutic potency often increases far more than its price. Going up even one level of quality can deliver many times more therapeutic power.
Next to quality, the most important factor in determining a gemstone’s therapeutic power is mass. Quality being equal, larger gems are more potent than smaller ones. If your neck is sensitive to weight, consider wearing somewhat smaller gems. Children usually require shorter necklaces and smaller gems.
Quality and gem size being equal, longer necklaces are more therapeutically potent than shorter ones because they contain more gemstone mass. Consider your comfort when choosing; for example, shorter people may prefer wearing shorter necklaces. If you wish to wear more than one necklace simultaneously, ideally they should be of different lengths. All necklaces 23 inches or shorter contain a 14K gold clasp; longer necklaces have no clasp.

Therapeutic-quality nephrite Green Jade has consistent color with minimal inclusions or mottling. The more consistent and true green the color of the gems, the more healing Green Jade energy will be available to your body. Although it is generally opaque, Green Jade may display some translucency. The more translucent the gem, the stronger its effects will be.
Lighter Green Jade has a more yang quality, while darker Green Jade has a stronger yin quality. Darker green colors will also have stronger and quicker effects on the physical and supraphysical body. This is part of why color consistency matters: the more consistent the color, the stronger the delivery of that shade’s energy will be.
Nephrite Green Jade is commonly treated with heat, bleach, or polymers to improve its color and appearance. However, any artificial treatment of Green Jade will significantly reduce its ability to promote strength and longevity.

Wear a Green Jade bracelet on either your left or right wrist—or, for stronger effects, wear two bracelets, one on each wrist.
If you have only one bracelet, wearing it on your left wrist may be advantageous, since the gem’s energies will often enter most easily on that side first. As the side closest to your heart, the left side is generally the most receptive to incoming energies. However, if a problem specifically involves your right hand, wrist, or arm, then wearing it on your right wrist may provide more direct support.
Green Jade is most effective when it is worn touching the skin.
Introducing Green Jade to Your Body
When you first present Green Jade to your body, the gems begin the process of coming into resonance with your unique patterns and expression of being. In this process, the gems “learn” your strengths, weaknesses, and current state of balance or lack thereof.
For this reason, it is best not to start your relationship with a particular Green Jade necklace or bracelet during the onset of an acute infectious illness or acute trauma. Ideally, begin your relationship with Green Jade in a state of calm and attentive awareness, ready to know and be known by the energies that guide and support you.
Using Movement to Enhance Effects
Green Jade’s therapeutic effects are strongly enhanced by physical movement. When you wear a Green Jade bracelet on one or both wrists, your arms’ movements will intensify the gems’ effects.
The most effective movements for this purpose are gentle, natural, circular motions—specifically, motions that move the limbs out away from your body and in toward your center, as well as motions that draw up from the earth and down from the heavens.
These can be the natural movements of your arms during the day—or, even more effectively, through the practice of moving meditations, such as yoga, qi gong, or tai chi. Conscious balancing exercises do much to unlock the gifts of this revered gemstone. Green Jade has been used in these ways for centuries.
The converse is also true: the experience of moving meditations can be deepened, intensified, and illuminated by wearing Green Jade bracelets.
For Maximum Effect: Pair Bracelets with a Necklace
To maximize your body’s access to Green Jade energy, wear a Green Jade necklace along with one—or, ideally, two—Green Jade bracelets. This can amplify the volume and movement of Green Jade energy through your body and field. Wearing a necklace and two bracelets while practicing moving meditations will act as an especially powerful enhancement to these healing and longevity practices.
Green Jade’s strength and effectiveness increase steadily the longer it is worn. Therefore, if you wear Green Jade constantly—for example, for five weeks—its work will be much stronger than if you wear it for only five days.
However, it is important to note that many people will feel the need to take occasional breaks from wearing Green Jade. The urge to remove the gems a few days may occur as your energy matrix works to incorporate its new strength, balance, and flow. During the break, make sure to physically and energetically cleanse the Green Jade. (See instructions under “Cleanse Green Jade Regularly” below.)
It is always wise to be sensitive to your body’s responses when wearing therapeutic gems. If the gems start to feel heavy, or if you start to feel a headache or significant emotional discomfort, take the Green Jade off for a while. Then allow your body time to adjust to the changes initiated by the gems by wearing them for only an hour or two a day. Gradually increase this time until you can comfortably wear the gems for as long and often as you wish.
Best Worn by One Person
The longer that Green Jade is worn by one individual, the deeper the connection, resonance, and harmony between that individual and the Green Jade will become, and the better the gems will serve their wearer.
Green Jade can potentially be shared between people, but this is not the most effective therapeutic approach for longevity or for supporting your connection with your lineage or improving your DNA repair processes. However, a shared necklace may offer the benefits of soothing and strengthening the body.
Cleanse Green Jade Regularly
To maintain their effectiveness, therapeutic gemstones need regular care. As the gems help us release energetic impurities, some of these energies cling to the gems’ surface and inhibit their ability to work at their peak capacity. A simple energetic cleansing will clear these energies and restore the gems to their naturally vibrant state. You can use any of following methods to cleanse your Green Jade necklace or bracelet. Learn more about these methods.
NOTE: To extend the life of the bracelet’s elastic cord, we recommend using the Plant Rejuvenation or Salt Bed as the primary methods for energetically cleansing your Green Jade bracelet.
Plant Rejuvenation: Every 1 – 2 days of wear, place the gems on the base of a healthy houseplant or lay them in its branches.
Salt Bed: Every 1 – 2 days of wear, lay the gems in a half-inch of salt for at least an hour or overnight. Place a thin natural-fiber cloth between the salt and the gems.
Moon Bath: Occasionally expose Green Jade to moonlight and starlight overnight to rejuvenate the gems. If possible, lay the gems on the earth or rest them in a plant at the same time.
Water Rinse for Physical Cleaning: To extend the life of the elastic cord, rinse a Green Jade bracelet only when necessary to physically clean the gems. Gently wash them with a mild, natural soap, followed by a short rinse in alternating warm and cool running water. Gently pat the gems dry and lay them flat until the cord is completely dry before wearing the bracelet again.
Special Care: Avoid cleansing Green Jade in sunlight. To extend the life of the bracelet cord, avoid cleansing Green Jade bracelets with clay.
When Your Gems First Arrive
When you put on a new bracelet or one you haven’t worn for a while, bring it into your aura with consciousness and a clear intent. We call this “practicing presence.” By opening yourself to the gems’ energies and consciously cooperating with the process of change, you can greatly enhance the gemstones’ benefits.
