Ruby Rose heals the heart's emotional wounds by soothing, mending, and strengthening your heart chakra. Ruby Rose gently massages your heart chakra, coaxing it to relax and let go of any emotional heaviness, pain, or other negative feelings. Then Ruby Rose helps prevent the return of these feelings by teaching your heart chakra to better regulate itself. This necklace contains ten sequences of Ruby and Roselle. Within each sequence are one section of eight Roselle spheres and one section of two Roselle spheres flanked by single Rubies.

Your health and spiritual development require a constant flow and expression of emotional energies through your physical body. If you do not express your emotions physically, even the more subtle ones can build up and create tension and disharmony. When you wear Ruby Rose, the first thing it does is establish a connection, or “bridge,” between your emotions and physical body through your heart chakra. A well-built emotional-physical bridge helps ensure a continuous flow of energies from your emotions to your physical body. It also helps ensure that your emotional expressions clearly and truly represent whatever you are feeling. The better this connection, the more accurately you can express a particular emotion. Ruby Rose continually strengthens this bridge for as long as you wear it.

Whenever you express an emotion physically, it comes through one of your chakras. One function of your heart chakra is to help regulate the flow of emotional energies through all the chakras. Certain emotions, such as love, joy and happiness, are typically directed through the heart chakra itself. Sometimes, however, emotions that are only associated with love, such as grief or jealousy, are channeled through the heart rather than through other, more appropriate chakras. The influx of these related emotions can overwork and stress the heart chakra, as can holding on to pain and other negative feelings. When your heart chakra becomes overloaded, it loses its effectiveness and can even start to shut down, leaving you weak and exhausted.

Ruby Rose assumes the heart chakra’s regulatory function—becoming, in a sense, the heart chakra's caretaker. Ruby Rose organizes incoming emotions and any suppressed or incomplete feelings. It then helps your heart chakra sort out which emotions it should channel. Emotions that could stress the heart chakra are directed to other chakras. This takes an enormous burden off your heart.

Nearly all of the world’s available Ruby owes its color, clarity, and stability to artificial heat treatments. Yet not all heating methods are created equal. Common techniques that diffuse the Ruby with substances such as lead or beryllium render the gems non-therapeutic and energetically toxic. These treatments have no parallel in nature. Gemisphere never sells such Ruby, and never will.

For the therapeutic-quality Ruby used in our other offerings, we start with high-quality gems of good color and clarity. These are then heated using a simple, old-style method and nontoxic borax (yes, the same borax you can use for your laundry!). This technique closely mimics the natural geothermal heating that takes place over eons in the Earth. It produces a stable, richly colored Ruby that can be used freely and effectively for therapeutic purposes.

Wear It Around Your Neck

The best way to experience the therapeutic effects of a Ruby Rose necklace is to wear it around your neck. There the gems will silently work for you as you go about your day. At night while you are sleeping, you can wear the necklace or keep it within three feet of your body to maintain your connection with the gems. 

Time Guidelines

Ruby Rose can be worn continuously. However, it is always wise to be sensitive to your body’s responses. If you start to feel a headache or significant discomfort, take the necklace off for a while. Then allow your body time to adjust to the changes initiated by the gems by wearing them for only an hour or two a day. Gradually increase this time until you can comfortably wear the gems for as long and often as you wish.

Contraindication

Ruby Rose and Gold

The Roselle in Ruby Rose should never be worn touching gold. The combination of Roselle and gold is disharmonious. Although gold can be beneficial in many situations, its energy tends to lock in one’s state of consciousness and close the heart. These effects are in direct conflict with the action of Roselle. Roselle’s energy also enlivens and strengthens gold and makes its effects more erratic and unstable.

Cleanse Ruby Rose Regularly

To maintain their effectiveness, therapeutic gemstones need regular care. As the gems help us release energetic impurities, some of these energies cling to the gems’ surface and inhibit their ability to work at their peak capacity. A simple energetic cleansing will clear these energies and restore the gems to their naturally vibrant state. You can use any of following methods to cleanse your Ruby Rose necklace. Plant Rejuvenation: 2 – 3 times a week, wrap the necklace around the base of a healthy houseplant or lay the necklace in its branches.

Salt Bed: 2 – 3 times a week, lay the gems in a half-inch of salt for at least an hour or overnight. Place a thin natural-fiber cloth between the salt and the gems.

Water Rinse: Rinse the gems 2 – 3 times a week.

Sunbath: Every 1 - 2 weeks, lay the gems in sunlight for a maximum of 5 minutes at a time.

Caution: Avoid clay cleansing, which will dull the Ruby’s polish.

Therapeutic Quality Ruby Rose

Ruby Rose necklaces contain Ruby and Roselle.

Ruby

Ruby crystals occur naturally in different qualities of color and clarity. The purer these qualities are, the more powerful are Ruby’s effects. Judging therapeutic quality in Ruby requires exceptional care and the consideration of many factors.

Therapeutic quality Ruby is at least somewhat translucent, true red, and free of black inclusions to the naked eye. Non-Ruby inclusions can be identified under a microscope and should be avoided as much as possible, since they restrict Ruby’s effects. Their area of influence is greater than the physical space they occupy; an inclusion affects the Ruby surrounding it in a radius equal to the inclusion’s diameter.

In order for Ruby’s energy to touch and stimulate the heart, it must carry the brightness of true red. Dark, burgundy-colored Ruby has a heavy energy that cannot reach above the lower chakras; the darker the color, the heavier the energy. On the other hand, Ruby that is too light or pinkish in color is immature and lacks the strength required to be therapeutically effective.

The precision of Ruby’s shape is crucial. Because Ruby energy radiates from the bead’s outer surface, poorly shaped rondels or spheres will make Ruby’s energy flow into the aura in an inconsistent manner.

When Ruby is cut into spheres or rondels, they are covered in a red oily polish. This polish should not be rubbed off, because the oil actually helps preserve the integrity of the physical crystal, which is very brittle. Fortunately, Ruby's energetic function is unaffected by this polish.

Roselle

Therapeutic quality Roselle is translucent but not to the point of being optical in quality. It is neither cloudy nor clear. Its consistency and color resemble a rose mist that permeates the entire sphere. Very minor inclusions within Roselle are part of its nature and do not diminish its therapeutic effects. However, any dullness, cloudiness, uncharacteristic color, dark inclusions, surface fissures, gouges, or poor drill holes hamper Roselle’s effectiveness. Large drill holes diminish the strength of Roselle’s radiance. Smaller drill holes allow Roselle’s energy to penetrate the aura more quickly.

Non-dyed vs. Dyed Roselle

Only natural, fine pink, gem-quality Roselle should be used therapeutically. Roselle is by nature a delicate light pink. To the untrained eye, this natural pink color may appear somewhat pale, especially when compared to dyed Roselle. Nearly all the Roselle spheres available today have been dyed in an attempt to make them look like gem-quality Roselle. Natural Roselle of a fine pink color is rare.

Although dye might make the Roselle appear higher in quality, it is a harmful irritant, which inhibits Roselle’s action. Natural Roselle calms and soothes the emotions; the soothing, massaging motion of its energy allows hidden feelings to emerge. Dyed Roselle, on the other hand, expresses an irritating energy. This energy can be so strong that, when worn, dyed Roselle can make you feel like crying or expressing anger. You may think that the Roselle is helping you to release suppressed emotions. On the contrary, the interaction of the dye with the Roselle energy creates an irritation that causes unnecessary upset. Dyed Roselle can also place stress on the chakras, which will brace themselves in self-protection against the energy of the dyed Roselle.

To guarantee that a Roselle necklace is free of dye, it must be examined under a microscope.

Therapeutic vs. Optical Quality Roselle

Optical-quality Roselle has slightly different effects from optimal therapeutic quality Roselle. Optical Roselle’s energy is more abrupt, even harsh. It can tear into the wearer’s energetic fabric, ripping open pockets of suppressed emotion.

For this reason, optical Roselle can be used for short periods when someone has an immediate need to understand his feelings about an issue. This may be the case when someone must make an important decision, or when finding clarity has become difficult because a situation has become emotionally overwhelming. Optical-quality Roselle will cut through the grief, anger, frustration, or other emotion so that the person can examine his true feelings.

Optical Roselle should not be worn for more than one or two days at a time, and often five to 15 minutes are sufficient. It is best applied under the care of a professional gem therapist or a well-trained layperson.
