Blood Tonic (Semi-Precious)

Blood Tonic (Semi-Precious) necklaces contain Sugilite, Bloodstone, and Carnelian.

Sugilite

Sugilite is a very rare purple earthstone. Its purple color ranges from light to dark and from true purple to magenta, with all shades and variations in between. Sugilite’s color is most accurately seen outdoors or in direct sunlight.

In the Earth, Sugilite develops in proximity to other minerals, which are then commonly found in Sugilite beads. Two of these minerals—one black and one white—are beneficial and work synergistically with the Sugilite. They give each Sugilite bead a unique appearance and pattern of color. In some cases, the black mineral deepens and darkens the purple, and the white mineral lightens the purple color to lavender. In other cases, the black and white minerals appear as distinct patches and give the bead a mottled appearance. In still other cases, the black and white minerals mix to appear gray to the naked eye.

Other colored minerals are also commonly found in Sugilite beads. These minerals appear as areas of colorless translucency or silver. The influence of the colorless translucent material is neutral; it neither supports nor inhibits Sugilite’s effects. Any patches of metallic-silver color renders the bead non-therapeutic (these metallic-looking patches appear distinctly different from the gray areas described above). Gemisphere’s Sugilite necklaces contain no metallic-silver areas.

An overall maroon-brown appearance in a Sugilite necklace is not harmful but diminishes the necklace’s therapeutic effects. These necklaces can still be therapeutic in quality but are at the lower end of the therapeutic-quality scale.

To be therapeutic, each Sugilite necklace must possess a consistent hue and pattern of coloration overall. Because of the need for consistency, plus the wide-ranging diversity of Sugilite’s appearance, creating a therapeutic necklace is challenging. For this reason, each Gemisphere Sugilite necklace is special and entirely unique.

Translucent Sugilite

An extremely rare form of Sugilite is pure purple and appears translucent when held up to a light source. It is often referred to as “gel” or “jelly” Sugilite. This type of Sugilite can draw out the greatest range of unwanted energies both in the physical and subtle bodies. At this time, necklaces made entirely of gel Sugilite are nearly impossible to obtain. However, the highest quality Gemisphere necklaces contain areas or entire beads of gel Sugilite, which appears in these necklaces either as a distinct translucency or as a crystalline sheen.

Spherical Shape

Because of the relatively soft nature of Sugilite, and the varying densities of the harder black and white minerals that may be mixed within it, gem cutters have difficulty forming Sugilite into perfect spheres. Gemisphere’s Sugilite is clearly spherical and carefully polished, but on closer inspection you may find a few beads that are not impeccably round. These slight variations in shape do not detract from their therapeutic value.

Bloodstone

The color of therapeutic Bloodstone is a distinct, rich, and consistent dark green. Therapeutic Bloodstone also contains red flecks and, occasionally, flecks of orange or yellow. Of these colors, red represents the highest quality, orange is next best, and yellow the next. Ideally, the flecks are distinct and appear either as tiny pinpoints or larger patches and do not dominate the green color. The presence of shiny pinpoints that look like translucent crystalline structures is beneficial. White flecks or patches are not desirable. Bloodstone spheres that are bluish or muddy or in which green does not dominate are not therapeutic.

Bloodstone is best evaluated in direct sunlight, where one can assess the color, translucency, and flecks most accurately. The higher the quality of the Bloodstone, the more effective it is at enhancing the mutable bodies’ ability to absorb toxins and transform vitamins and minerals in the blood into bioavailable forms.

Carnelian

Carnelian's quality is easy to judge with the naked eye. A microscope is not necessary and a light table may even be deceiving. With Carnelian, color is more important than clarity. Nonetheless, to be therapeutic, Carnelian must be free of any rock matrix or non-Carnelian inclusions. The Carnelian should not appear muddy or dull. Cracks, even small ones, should be avoided, because they disrupt the emission of the Carnelian’s frequency.

The color of a Carnelian sphere as it is visible to the naked eye in sunlight is a true representation of the energy it will give to its wearer. To judge Carnelian’s true color, it must be held up in ambient sunshine outdoors and not directly in front of the sun. In this respect, Carnelian is different from some other gemstones: any light source placed directly behind Carnelian makes it appear lighter than it really is. Carnelian color should be as consistent as possible throughout the sphere and, ideally, true to the pure orange seen in a rainbow.

Such Carnelian is not plentiful. For many people, this optimal Carnelian color may actually provide too strong an influx of orange ray. Therefore, in most cases, using the Carnelian with a slight hint of red coloring is recommended; it emanates a degree of orange ray that is in balance for most people. The more commonly available, dark red-orange Carnelian is not therapeutic.

Well-formed spheres and neat drill holes are also vital to Carnelian's effectiveness. Irregularly shaped or improperly drilled spheres diminish the strength with which Carnelian can express its frequency into the aura.

I have been an allergy sufferer for many years, with pressure between my eyes and an almost constant, low-level allergy headache. Wear It Around Your Neck

One of the most powerful and convenient ways to use a Blood Tonic (Semi-Precious) necklace is to wear it around your neck. There the gems will silently work for you as you go about your day. At night while you are sleeping, you can wear the necklace or keep it within three feet of your body to maintain your connection with the gems.  

Time Guidelines

Blood Tonic (Semi-Precious) can be worn continuously, with some caveats (see below). It is always wise to be sensitive to your body’s responses. If you start to feel a headache or significant discomfort, take the necklace off for a while. Then allow your body time to adjust to the changes initiated by the gems by wearing them for only an hour or two a day. Gradually increase this time until you can comfortably wear the gems for as long and often as you wish.

Using Blood Tonic (Semi-Precious) with Medication

Blood Tonic (Semi-Precious) should generally not be combined with chemotherapy drugs but can be used before or after a course of chemotherapy. It should be used with significant caution when you are being treated with toxic or strongly suppressive medications. Use it with mild caution when taking other strong pharmaceutical medications; in this case, when first wearing this necklace, limit its use to several hours a day.

Combining the Blood Tonic Necklaces 

The two versions of this necklace—Blood Tonic (Precious) and Blood Tonic (Semi-Precious)—can be worn together for very strong actions and effects. The two versions focus their energies on slightly different aspects of the blood and at slightly different depths of work. Cleanse Blood Tonic (Semi-Precious) Regularly

To maintain their effectiveness, therapeutic gemstones need regular care. As the gems help us release energetic impurities, some of these energies cling to the gems’ surface and inhibit their ability to work at their peak capacity. A simple energetic cleansing will clear these energies and restore the gems to their naturally vibrant state. You can use any of the following methods to cleanse your Blood Tonic (Semi-Precious) necklace. Learn more about these methods.

Plant Rejuvenation: 2 – 3 times a week, wrap the necklace around the base of a healthy houseplant or lay the necklace in its branches.

Salt Bed: 2 – 3 times a week, lay the gems in a half-inch of salt for at least an hour or overnight. Place a thin natural-fiber cloth between the salt and the gems.

Water Rinse: Rinse the gems in alternating warm and cold water daily for the first two weeks, then 2 – 3 times a week. If you live or work in an environment with concentrated pollution, such as cigarette smoke, to cleanse the Sugilite, rinse Blood Tonic twice a day every day you are wearing it.

Clay Cleanse: For deeper cleansing, occasionally perform a bentonite clay bath or pack, though no more than once about every two weeks of daily use.

Special Notes: Avoid cleansing in direct sunlight, which is incompatible with Sugilite.

At least once a month, place Blood Tonic outdoors in a shady spot directly on the Earth for about ten minutes.
