Time Guidelines

Brigid can be worn continuously. However, it is always wise to be sensitive to your body’s responses. If you start to feel a headache or significant discomfort, take the necklace off for a while. Then allow your body time to adjust to the changes initiated by the gems by wearing them for only an hour or two a day. Gradually increase this time until you can comfortably wear the gems for as long and often as you wish.

Cleanse Brigid Regularly

To maintain their effectiveness, therapeutic gemstones need regular care. As the gems help us release energetic impurities, some of these energies cling to the gems’ surface and inhibit their ability to work at their peak capacity. A simple energetic cleansing will clear these energies and restore the gems to their naturally vibrant state. You can use any of following methods to cleanse your Brigid necklace. Salt Bed: Lay in a half-inch of sea salt overnight. Place a thin natural-fiber cloth between the salt and the gems.

Plant Rejuvenation: 2 – 3 times a week, wrap the necklace around the base of a healthy houseplant or lay the necklace in its branches.

Sunbath: Every 1 - 2 weeks, lay the gems in sunlight for a maximum of 5 minutes at a time.

Special Notes: Avoid clay cleansing or rinsing, which will dull Mother of Pearl’s polish.

Store the necklace separately to protect Mother of Pearl, which is a particularly soft and fragile gem.

Pink Tourmaline

Pink Tourmaline occurs in a variety of colors, ranging from light pink to dark pink to deep purple-pink. Pink Tourmaline with a brown cast is less therapeutic than its pinker cousins. The strongest and highest quality Pink Tourmaline, known as Rubellite, appears bright and clear and contains few inclusions or flaws. Its color is a deep, purplish pink. The closer Pink Tourmaline is to this color, the more therapeutically effective it will be.

Mother of Pearl

Mother of Pearl’s shimmering, reflective quality helps its energy quickly enter the aura. The more opalescence Mother of Pearl possesses, the more deeply it can work—be it physically, emotionally, or mentally—and the more clearly you will receive its benefits.

Red Spinel

The color of therapeutic-quality Red Spinel is a deep, bright red that is close to the red of the rainbow. The more true-red the gems are, the stronger their energetic effects will be. Spinel gems that are more distinctly pink than red are not considered therapeutic Red Spinel and have different energetic properties.

A small number of inclusions in Red Spinel do not interfere with its energetic work. The Spinel energy bypasses the other mineral.

Any kind of artificial treatments will render Red Spinel non-therapeutic. While most high-quality Spinel is untreated, some heat-treated Red Spinel has appeared on the market and should be avoided for therapeutic use. Gemisphere’s Red Spinel is completely natural and free of all treatments.
