Red Spinel

Red Spinel supports the energies of movement, rhythm, and strength in the physical body. One of the most powerful and convenient ways to use a Red Spinel necklace is to wear it around your neck. There the gems will silently work for you as you go about your day. 

You can also use it for more focused treatments. Red Spinel will focus its work wherever it is placed. For example, you can place it directly on a specific area—such as a joint, muscle, or organ—to focus its energy there. Leave the necklace in place for 15 to 30 minutes. As healing occurs, you can leave it in place for longer periods as your body becomes accustomed to the energy.

Because of Red Spinel’s promotion of movement in the body, it is best used during dynamic hours of activity and not during rest or sleep. Therefore, Red Spinel should be worn only during the day and taken off at night to allow your body to return to a quiet and restful state.

Time Guidelines

A solid Red Spinel necklace is a strong therapeutic gemstone tool. Therefore, its energy may be difficult for some people to integrate easily or quickly. When first working with a solid Red Spinel necklace, we recommend wearing it for one to three hours a day. Gradually increase this time until you can comfortably wear the gems for as long and often as you wish during the day’s active hours and taking it off to sleep.

It is always wise to be sensitive to your body’s responses. If you start to feel a headache or significant discomfort, take the necklace off for a while. Then allow your body time to adjust to the changes initiated by the Red Spinel by wearing it for only an hour or two a day. Gradually increase the time as described above.

Best Worn Alone

A solid Red Spinel necklace generally works best when worn alone. However, it will pair well with a Mother of Pearl necklace to combine a soothing, nurturing energy with Red Spinel’s strengthening effects.

Precautions for Wearing Red Spinel

Red Spinel’s ability to remove blockages to the color rays in the physical and supraphysical bodies will gently enhance detoxification of the tissues. It may also very slightly increase the body’s ability to absorb sunlight and other light rays. Therefore, avoid wearing Red Spinel in bright sunlight with unprotected skin for long periods.

Also, remove Red Spinel when undergoing light therapies of any kind, including infrared treatments, saunas, or other heat therapies. Although Red Spinel’s mild enhancement may be too gentle for anyone but the very sensitive to notice, this is a good general precaution for reducing the chance of excessive exposure to the effects of light, heat, and infrared therapies.

Red Spinel should not be worn during radiation or chemotherapy treatments.

Cleanse Red Spinel Regularly

To maintain their effectiveness, therapeutic gemstones need regular care. As the gems help us release energetic impurities, some of these energies cling to the gems’ surface and inhibit their ability to work at their peak capacity. A simple energetic cleansing will clear these energies and restore the gems to their naturally vibrant state. You can use any of following methods to cleanse your Red Spinel necklace. Plant Rejuvenation: Every 1 – 2 days of wear, wrap the necklace around the base of a healthy houseplant or lay the necklace in its branches.

Salt Bed: Every 2 – 3 days of wear, lay the gems in a half-inch of salt for at least an hour or overnight. Place a thin natural-fiber cloth between the salt and the gems.

Water Rinse: Every 1 – 2 days of wear, rinse the gems in alternating cool and warm water. Avoid temperature extremes. Occasionally clean the gems with a mild, natural soap before rinsing.

Sunbath: Every 2 - 3 weeks of wear, lay the gems in sunlight for a maximum of 10 minutes at a time.

Special Note: Handle with extra care. While Red Spinel is a relatively hard stone, because of its crystalline structure, it shatters easily if dropped or hit. Store it away from hard surfaces, including other gemstones.

When you put on a new necklace or one you haven’t worn for a while, bring it into your aura with consciousness and a clear intent. Therapeutic Quality Red Spinel

Again, the color of therapeutic-quality Red Spinel is a deep, bright red that is close to the red of the rainbow. The more true-red the gems are, the stronger their energetic effects will be. Spinel gems that are more distinctly pink than red are not considered therapeutic Red Spinel and have different energetic properties.

A small number of inclusions in Red Spinel do not interfere with its energetic work. The Spinel energy bypasses the other mineral.

Any kind of artificial treatments will render Red Spinel non-therapeutic. While most high-quality Spinel is untreated, some heat-treated Red Spinel has appeared on the market and should be avoided for therapeutic use. Gemisphere’s Red Spinel is completely natural and free of all treatments.
